Objective: Create a scavenger hunt experience inside the CMA. Explore, research, and create physical pathways for a virtual experience that allows users to discover objects throughout the collection using augmented reality.
This project will be a featured at the Columbia Museum of Art's November 8th Arts + Draughts event and then extended through Jan. 21, 2025!
Below are my group's initial mood boards as well as the works of art we picked for our augmented reality experience.
Art and Identity - Gallery #5 (Collections)
Sara Ayers, 1988, "Wiiwiiniira Tusku (Wedding Jug)"
Pit-fired earthenware
Boyd Plaza
Steven Naifeh, 2013 "Jali"
Anodized steel sculpture with acrylic paints and sealers.
We were tasked as a class to create an AR experience that brings the user throughout the entire museum highlighting specific artwork.
Each group consisted of three people focused on two-three tasks and then Brought together into one big project and design.
My group designed an illustration for the catawba pot and then a geometric shaped illustration for the "Jali" as well as came up with clues that would lead the user from the previous artwork to ours.
Below is the process for the "Jali" design.
